Battlefield Hardline Multiplayer Servers Shutting Down on PS4 and Xbox One

24 March 2026 14:00 PMAnother one bites the dust. EA has officially confirmed that Battlefield Hardline's multiplayer servers on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are going dark on 22nd June 2026. If you've been meaning to boot it up one last time, the clock is ticking.
Worth knowing before that date: the game and all its DLC will be pulled from digital storefronts a full month earlier, on 22nd May. So if you don't own it yet and want the single-player at least, you'll need to grab it before then.
The shutdown follows the same fate that hit the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions back in November 2024. This latest closure won't touch the PC version, which remains online and unaffected for now.
Battlefield Hardline launched back in 2015 as a spin-off from the main series. Developed by Visceral Games (a studio EA shut down in 2017), it took a sharp left turn from the military combat the series is known for, swapping tanks and jets for a cops-and-robbers setup that felt noticeably smaller in scale. An interesting idea on paper. In practice, critics were divided. Many felt the game struggled to fully justify itself as a Battlefield title, sitting in an awkward spot between the franchise's identity and something else entirely.
EA posted the confirmation via their official X account, stating the June 22nd date for the PS4 and Xbox One server closures.
Once those servers go down, console multiplayer is finished for good. Single-player, though, stays fully playable for anyone who already owns it.
It's a quiet end for what was always a divisive entry in the franchise. Hardline had its fans, people who genuinely enjoyed the change of pace, but it never quite found the footing to stand alongside the mainline games. Given how much has happened in the Battlefield series since, it's not a huge shock to see EA winding this one down.
PC players, you're safe for now.
