Roblox Classic Faces Are Gone: Community Mourns as Dynamic Heads Take Over

25 March 2026 21:00 PMIt's done. After months of warnings, community petitions, and heated forum threads, Roblox has officially pulled the trigger on Classic Faces. As of 23rd March 2026, every single Classic Face and Classic Head on the platform has been converted to a Dynamic Head. No exceptions.
The faces that players have known since January 2009 are gone. And a large portion of the community is not okay with that.
What Actually Changed
The migration went live on 23rd March. Every Classic Head and Face has been moved into the Heads category in the Marketplace and Avatar Editor. Roblox did add a toggle letting players turn facial animations on or off, and you can swap between head shapes you own. Saved avatars now retain your selected head shape and animation preference.
For Limited Heads, Roblox says serial numbers, quantities, and trading behaviour remain intact. The company also says it's continuing to refine the look of Limiteds to match originals as closely as possible.
The problem? A lot of players feel the current conversions don't come close enough.

The Kestrel Problem
Here's what's frustrating people most: Roblox announced a partnership with Kestrel, a prominent studio, to review Head conversions and bring them up to quality. That work hasn't started yet. The migration went live first.
Players on the Roblox Developer Forum were quick to point that out. One user wrote: "I did not expect them to do the removals before they'd commissioned the improved versions from Kestrel. Absolute joke company." Another asked: "Why deadline this when it wasn't even close to done?"
That sentiment is everywhere right now. The general feeling is that Roblox rushed the rollout before the quality assurance side of things was anywhere near ready. Whether Kestrel's involvement will actually bring the Dynamic Heads closer to the originals remains to be seen, but right now, people aren't exactly optimistic.
Limited Faces Lost Millions of Robux in Value Overnight
For players who've invested real money into Limited Edition faces, this hits differently. Some of those items have had their value drop sharply since the conversion, with players reporting that the new Dynamic versions simply don't carry the same visual identity that made certain faces valuable in the first place.
Specific issues people are pointing out include sharp angles being rounded on faces like Madbot and Crazybot, teeth details not meeting the edges of mouths on grin designs, and general changes to head shape that affect how accessories and hats fit. Old hats reportedly no longer sit correctly on the updated head shapes.
There's also a workaround doing the rounds. Wearing a mask accessory over your face removes the Dynamic He
