12 December 2025 12:00 PMTreyarch dropped a festive surprise for Black Ops 7 players yesterday (sorry for the delay!). Thursday, December 11th marks the start of a fresh Double XP weekend, running until Monday, December 15th at 10 AM PT.

The timing lines up with Week 2 of Season 1 content. Players get boosted progression across every mode: Multiplayer, Zombies, Co-Op Campaign, and even Warzone. Double Weapon XP and Double GobbleGum earn rates are active too.
Sleighjacked Brings Holiday Chaos
The real highlight? Sleighjacked just went live with its own dedicated 24/7 playlist.
This festive variant of the classic Hijacked yacht map from Black Ops 2 transforms the luxury vessel into a winter wonderland. Think garlands, wreaths, twinkling lights, and snow everywhere. Treyarch calls the theme "Smooth Sleighing" for the holidays.

Hijacked has been a fan favourite since 2012. The small 6v6 map plays fast. Close-quarters combat from stern to bow, with the centre deck becoming a crucial battleground for objective modes.
The festive makeover keeps the same frantic gameplay but adds seasonal flair to every corner of the yacht.
What Else Dropped in Week 2
Treyarch packed Week 2 with content beyond just XP boosts and Sleighjacked:
- Rally Point Community Event launched
- NX Ravager Crossbow available as a new weapon
- Weekly Challenge rewards the Akita Scorchlink Akimbo
- Party Games expanded with Sticks & Stones and Gun Game modes
Treyarch confirmed the update on Twitter, showing off the full Week 2 lineup.
When Double XP Ends
Your grinding window runs through the weekend. The event wraps up Monday, December 15th at 10 AM PT (6 PM GMT / 11:30 PM IST).

Players who want to maximise gains should focus on objective-based modes. Domination and Hardpoint typically dish out the most XP per match. The Sleighjacked 24/7 playlist offers constant action on a small map, making weapon levelling especially efficient.
Worth noting: your stored Double XP tokens won't work during the event. Activision disables personal tokens whenever global XP weekends go live to prevent stacking.
Season 1 Content Keeps Rolling
This marks the second major XP event since Black Ops 7 launched on November 14th. The first ran from November 21-24, with another extended event over Thanksgiving week from November 26 to December 1.
Season 1 kicked off December 4th with loads of new maps. Utopia, Fate, and Odysseus joined at launch, plus a remastered Standoff from Black Ops 2. Sleighjacked arrived ahead of the upcoming CODMAS celebration, which promises even more festive content for Multiplayer, Zombies, and Endgame modes.
Mid-season will bring the new Yakei map set on Japanese rooftops, plus the long-awaited return of Meltdown, another Black Ops 2 classic that hasn't appeared in a Call of Duty game for 13 years.

Players expecting monthly XP events should get them. Black Ops 6 established a pattern of at least one Double XP weekend per month, with several months featuring two separate events. Season 1 seems to follow the same cadence.
The free trial also launches next week, giving everyone access to Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Activision's push to expand the player base comes after Black Ops 7 saw softer launch numbers compared to previous entries in the franchise.
For now, the focus stays on grinding. Thursday through Monday offers your best chance to power through prestige ranks, max out weapon levels, and knock out camo challenges before the buffs disappear.
Log in, queue up Sleighjacked 24/7, and rack up those levels whilst the festive yacht is decked out for the holidays.
