Blizzard dropped a proper bombshell this morning. The Warlock class is coming to Diablo 2: Resurrected, over two decades since the original game hit shelves back in 2000.

Warlock Class

The Reign of the Warlock DLC launched today (February 11) for $24.99. You'll find it across PC, PlayStation, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch. The add-on went live on Battle.net first, then rolled out to Steam where Diablo 2: Resurrected also made its debut.

Blizzard's timing here? Spot on. This announcement came during the Diablo Anniversary Spotlight showcase, marking 30 years since the franchise kicked off.

Warlock Spreading Across the Franchise

The class isn't exclusive to Resurrected. Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred gets the Warlock treatment on April 28 (PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S). Then Diablo Immortal players will see it drop this summer.

Warlock Comparison

Pretty wild when you think about it. Resurrected's 2021 remaster already gave the game a visual overhaul, but adding brand-new content to a 25-year-old title? That's rare territory.

The price tag sits at $24.99, which puts it in premium DLC range. Whether that's fair for a single class addition depends on how much content Blizzard packed in. Players will need to weigh the nostalgia factor against their wallets.

For longtime Diablo fans, this anniversary celebration brings fresh reasons to revisit Sanctuary. The Warlock's cross-game rollout shows Blizzard's commitment to keeping the entire franchise relevant, even the older entries that most studios would've left untouched years ago.

Steam's simultaneous launch of Diablo 2: Resurrected also opens the door for a whole new audience who prefer Valve's platform. Smart move, especially when you're trying to sell premium DLC.
