CS2 Player Punches Opponent Live On Stage at German LAN, Gets Lifetime Ban

23 April 2026 16:00 PM BSTA CS2 player punched his opponent in the face on stage at a German LAN event. Then it got worse for him.
The incident happened on April 19 during the awards ceremony at CAGGTUS Leipzig, part of the largest LAN party in the German-speaking world. Berliner streamer and semi-pro player Maurizio "MAUschine" Weber walked up to opposing player Fabian "Spidergum" Salomon and punched him in the face, knocking his glasses clean off. MAUschine then turned and attempted to shake the tournament organiser's hand. The organiser, visibly stunned, refused.
The whole thing was caught on the live broadcast.
So what set him off? During the final, Spidergum had been shouting "papichulo" after winning rounds. That's MAUschine's own alias, something he yells after kills. It was a bit of banter. According to reports, MAUschine had even made comments on stream in the days beforehand suggesting he would confront Spidergum physically at the event, though that stream has since been deleted.
Worth noting: there was no cash prize. The winning team took home a ticket to next year's CAGGTUS event, second place got a PC cooler, and third place earned a free hot drinks pass for 2027.
DACH CS Masters wasted no time. Their statement read: "We do not tolerate physical assaults against other players at LAN and have acted accordingly. MAUschine is banned for at least 10 years and the incident has additionally been reported to ESIC. In case it wasn't clear, we think violence has no place in our league."
Tournament organiser Fragster followed with their own statement, extending the ban to cover all their events as well.
Then ESIC stepped in.
The Esports Integrity Commission issued a lifetime ban on April 21, permanently barring MAUschine from any event run by an ESIC member organisation, in any capacity. Their statement described it as "a flagrant and unacceptable breach of the ESIC Code of Conduct, including violations relating to violence, participant safety, and the fundamental obligation to act with integrity and respect at all times." DACH CS Masters and Fragster both updated their bans to permanent exclusions in line with the ruling.
Spidergum's organisation, regnum4games, confirmed it would provide legal support. Spidergum himself, for his part, took it pretty well. He posted on X: "Bullseye from MAUschine, better aim than with the AWP and especially on stream." When a follower suggested he consider pressing charges, his reply was simply: "Yes, you're right."
So. A premeditated punch at a LAN with no money on the line. A lifetime ban from competitive play. Potential legal action. All over someone yelling your own catchphrase back at you.
MAUschine definitely won't be redeeming that free hot beverage pass next year.
