Blizzard dropped a fresh trailer for World of Warcraft: Midnight's pre-expansion update yesterday, hours before servers went down for the big patch.

The pre-patch went live today (January 20) following extended maintenance, bringing sweeping changes to Azeroth. Players get their hands on UI updates, revamped class systems, and the new Devourer Demon Hunter spec that swaps Fel energy for Void powers. Think scythes, soul-harvesting, mid-range spellcasting. Proper edgy stuff.

Void Elf Demon Hunters are now a thing too. Short questline unlocks them, complete with purple metamorphosis visuals and the Spatial Rift racial trait.

The transmog system got a complete rebuild. Your appearances stick to gear slots now, not individual items. Swap gear without losing your look. About bloody time.

Blizzard's also added a proper damage metre straight into the UI. No more relying on third-party addons to check if you're pulling your weight in raids. You'll find DPS tracking, healing stats, interrupts, dispels under Options > Gameplay Enhancements.

Here's the catch: the Twilight Ascension event doesn't start until January 27. That's when the proper pre-patch content kicks off with cosmetic
